The Cars

We’re proud to have a wide range of rear wheel drive sports cars and sports saloons in Classic Marques and we have had cars from the 1930’s to the 2020’s battling it out against each other.

Unlike many other championships, we don’t have specific classes for Standard, Road, Modified and Sports Libre. As we assess each car’s characteristics through our algorithm system, it doesn’t matter if you have a totally standard MX5 or an MG Midget with a K series swap – you will compete against each other fairly.

New for 2025 are two headline classes of Historic Classics and Modern Classics that does represent the two main sub-groups of cars that we represent.

Historic Classics are defined as cars that use separate analogue systems to control the fuel delivery and the ignition systems and do not use a single programmable digital Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to control both ignition and fuelling in a single unit. This means that cars with a distributor retro fitted with an electronic distributor ignition system to replace a points and condenser remain as Historic Classics. Cars with carburettors and older analogue fuel injection systems such as the Lucas or Bosch Jetronic systems are also classed as Historic Classics. If an older car has been fitted with a programmable ECU of any type in place of the original ignition and fuelling systems then this is a Modern Classic. All vehicles that are not Historic Classics fall into the Modern Classics class.
