Chair – Noor Ali

I’m Noor Ali, Chair and Competition Secretary for Classic Marques. I manage the overall running of Classic Marques and liaise with the Clubs that organize the events that we attend to ensure we are a key part of their annual plans. I’ve been competing since 2018 and actually started in Classic Marques in that year, and I fell in love with the ethos of the Club and the friendliness in the paddock. I currently drive a relatively standard Toyota MR2 Mk3. Outside of Classic Marques I am a Director of a Material Science business and qualified as an industrial chemist.
Vice Chair and webmaster – Brian Marshall

Hello! I’m Brian Marshall, and alongside supporting Noor, I manage the website while also chairing the technical subcommittee. I first began competing in 2006, and when the Classic Marques championship launched in 2014, I joined in the Intersports class. For many years, I raced in a Porsche 944 Turbo until 2019, when I decided to switch to driving a Marcos Mantula V8. Beyond the Classic Marques, I previously worked as Head of Environment & Compliance for a waste company. Now that I’m retired, I can usually be found tinkering in my workshop—my favourite retreat!
Ian Beningfield – Treasurer

I’m Ian, CMSCC Treasurer, Charity Champion and owner of a multitude of colourful suits that come out once a year at the awards do. I joined CM in the very early days, (I’ve got a 2013 championship sticker on my garage wall) and I’ve been a regular ever since competing in my battered old MG Midget.
In 2019 I bought our ex-Chairman’s racevan and somehow becoming treasurer became part of the deal! I still look after all the finances but in addition I’ve taken over a few extra roles as our charity scheme, handy as my day job is Head of Fundraising for an international charity, coordinating our marshal donations at the end of the season and hosting our annual awards night
Jonathan Plowe – Secretary

Hello! I’m Jon Plowe and I’m the club secretary. I began competing in 2006 and have worked my way through a Jensen Healey, Gilbern Genie and latterly a turbo charged Fiat X1/9. I’ve taken a break from competing to build up a Gilbern Invader mk111 to be out for the 2026 season. Outside of racing my job is as a forestry manager, and any other spare time is spent with a variety of old military vehicles
Matt Eady – Membership Secretary

Keith Weller – Championship coordinator

I’m Keith Weller, Championship Coordinator and member of the technical subcommittee. I have only been with Classic Marques since ’23 however, in that time I have competed in two different cars, blown an engine, “volunteered” for the committee and was runner up in the ’24 championship. I’m a multiskilled engineer by trade having spent some time in the forces, I’m now a Regional Operations Manager responsible for a large team of engineers covering the South West. Easy to spot in the paddock in my self built GTM Libra, come say hello!
Steve Cork – Oily Rag publisher

Steve Cork is the publisher for the CM Magazine the “Oily Rag”. He has been involved with car clubs for over 20 years. Initially he restored and showed classic Scimitars with the RSSOC, but decided that building them to race was much more fun. He has been racing in sprints and hillclimbs since 2012. Initially with turbo charged Scimitars, but has now moved onto Honda S2000s winning the Intersports trophy in 2024 and has also earned the Classic Marques Mille Punti Award. He’s a dyed in the wool car nut, and can often be found talking tyres and trunnions somewhere in the paddock. Outside of Classic Marques he’s an occupational safety professional for a pharmaceutical company.
